Raggedy Ann and Andy Friendship Tea

Every June the Raggedy Ann and Andy experts and enthusiasts gather in Arcola, the birthplace of Johnny Gruelle and the home of his granddaughter Joni Gruelle Wannamaker. They exchange their treasures, renew acquaintances, and visit the small town that was once the boyhood inspiration for the creation of the Raggedy Ann phenomenon. This year, part of the annual experience is an opportunity to participate in the area's only English High Tea presented exclusively at the Arcola Flower Patch and Diamond House Bed and Breakfast at 225 and 229 E. Jefferson.

The high tea experience includes:
  • a sampling of attractive and delicious sandwiches
  • scones and sweetbreads
  • special candies and deserts and cakes
  • selected hot or cold teas, lemonade, and multi-flavored sangria
  • the pleasant diversion of good conversation
  • the beauty and peace of the garden
Those returning to the Central Illinois home of Raggedy Ann and Andy will experience the intimate, practical and pleasurable celebration of sharing all those things that they love in a setting that makes the moment memorable.
